CHILDREN'S XMAS PARTY

Childrens Christmas Party - Whether your are parent a grand parent an uncle or an aunt you may sign your child up as long as your a member of #298.

Members and related families may attend. Each child receives a present from SANTA! hot dogs, juice or pop is served, arts & crafts lots of fun, Christmas carols with STEVE WARNER and a little bag of Christmas goodies to go!

Time 10:30am - 1:00pm

Pensioners Christmas Dinner - Celebrated on the 28th of November. You must be a member & pensioner of Unit #298 (You may bring 1 quest)

Cocktails 4:00pm Dinner 5:00pm Always a success. So much more, please check our monthly events calender.

TRIVIA AT IT'S BEST
Sunday Evening's
Trivia starts at 7:00 p.m. till about 10:00 p.m. It consists of teams playing against other teams. Sometimes a theme is introduced around a holiday or sport event. Skill testing questions are different every week and a large variety of topics presented. Your team can be any number of people or just a few. Prizes are presented throughout the evening on different games. Come on by or bring your own team. Very competive game and a whole lot of fun.

This committee puts forth many volunteer hours throughout the year. They are always looking for new active members to join the Auxiliary. Questions or concerns: e-mail our web page or contact one of the members at the bar during meat draws (Fri. & Sat.) or Bingo on Tuesdays.
Every second Monday of the month the committee hosts a ladies tea (luncheon) They supply door prizes and a few games of bingo are played with the winners receiving a gift.
Tuesdays is bingo at the club in the afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m. til 5:00 p.m. You must be a member or a guest of a member to attend. Cards are free except last game and they are one dollar each. Tickets are sold for one meat package of different varities.
Every last Wednesday of the month the Ladies Auxilary host a meat draw at 4:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday afternoons meat draws are at 4:00 till apx. 7:00 p.m.

The Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced his God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
just as brightly as his brass.
"Step foward now you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?"
Have you always turned the other cheek, and to my church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No Lord, I guess I ain't,
because those of us who carry guns, can't always be saints."
"I've had to work most Sundays
and at times my talk was tough
and sometimes I've been violent,
because the streets were awfully rough" but I never took a penny,
that wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
when the bills just got to steep.
and I never passed a cry for help
although, at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here,
that never wanted me around,
except to calm there fears.
If you have a place for me here, O' Lord, it needn't be so grand
I've never expected, or had so much. But if you don't I'll understand".
There was a silence all around the throne, where the Saints had often trod, as this soldier waited quietly
For the judgment from his God...
"Step foward now you soldier",
"You've borne your burdens well,
walk peacefully on Heaven's streets!" You've done your time in Hell"
